February 1, 2024 | The Aerial, BVI

Tourists heading for the best beaches in the Caribbean go looking for a slice of paradise—and they find it! Powdery white sand, crystal clear waters, and picture-perfect landscapes all wait for you on the numerous gorgeous beaches around the Caribbean islands.

Though visitors have the chance to enjoy many different beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, each island is unique and offers something special. Take time to combine your beach trip with a little exploration to take in the marvelous range of culture and attractions the Caribbean offers.

1. Seven Mile Beach, Cayman Islands

The Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman is a stunning beach that attracts visitors from all around the world. On the west coast of Grand Cayman, Seven Mile Beach boasts sparkling, crystalline waters and coral sands.

Unlike some Caribbean beaches, the whole expanse of the waterfront is open to the public, meaning you can walk the full length of this white sand beach.

Relax or Get Active

Whether you prefer to take a leisurely stroll, work on your tan, or do something a little more active, there are plenty of options for you at Seven Mile Beach. Wander along the shore and stop at the beach bars along the way for a cocktail, try some of the local delicacies, or peruse the Seven Mile Shops.

Alternatively, parasail, snorkel, or scuba dive in the calm seas surrounding Cemetery Reef. The capital of the Caymans, George Town, is also close when the day’s drawing in.

2. BVI Beaches

The British Virgin Islands comprise around 60 islands and offer the perfect mix of paradise beaches, natural landscapes, wildlife, and lively culture. The BVI also boasts some of the best hiking spots in the Caribbean close to its stunning beaches for more active visitors.

Health and Wellness

There’s nothing more important than good health, and the BVI is the ideal location to rest, recuperate, and restore yourself. We offer several land and water-based activities as well as deep wellness experiences that focus on full-spectrum healing.

3. Eagle Beach, Aruba

One of the most famous beaches in Aruba, Eagle Beach is the widest beach on the island and is known for its magnificent ocean views, watersports, and powder-soft sand. The beach also offers some shaded areas and beach huts perfect for the hottest hours of the day.

Eagle Beach also provides an alternative to the vastly popular Palm Beach. If you want to avoid the crowds and head to a quieter and more relaxed spot while in Aruba, Eagle Beach is the one for you.

That said, beach tennis enthusiasts flock to Eagle Beach on the weekends. Eagle Beach is also a haven for watersports lovers as the surf can sometimes be restless and the current strong. This is a stunning white sand beach for romantic walks, relaxing, and enjoying peaceful moments in the Caribbean sun.

4. Grace Bay Beach, Turks and Caicos

The world-famous Grace Bay Beach is on the northeast coast of the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Grace Bay topped travel site Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards in 2022, and it’s little wonder; Grace Bay Beach is heaven on earth!

Featuring around three miles of pristine white sand, Grace Bay’s azure waters are clear and calm. This makes the beach ideal for children still learning how to swim, watersports like scuba diving, horseback riding, or simply floating in the water while enjoying the breathtaking views. It’s also an incredibly clean beach, with no rocks, trash, or seaweed.

Grace Bay’s Barrier Reef

Grace Bay hosts some of the world’s most vibrant and spectacular reefs. One of these, Bight Reef, is close enough to swim to when accessed from the western edge of the beach. You can visit the other reefs by boat.

Grab your scuba diving gear and head out in the waters. The reefs are home to a host of fish, turtles, lobsters, stingrays, and of course, coral.

Catch the Sunset

There are plenty of places to capture the glorious sunset over Grace Bay. Head to Stubb’s Point (also known as Pelican Beach or Sunset Beach) access on Leeward Beach, the dock at Ricky’s restaurant, or the Forbes Point beach access.

A cruise just in time for sunset can also be a stunning way to take in the gorgeous colors and spectacular landscapes surrounding Grace Bay Beach.

5. Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay in Antigua has one of the most breathtaking beaches in the Caribbean but takes a little more effort to reach than others. This also means, however, that there are fewer beachgoers to distract from the beach’s natural beauty and charm.

Half Moon Bay offers space both for tanners and sports enthusiasts. Tanners can head to the sandy beach to take in the magnificent seascape and windsurfers will love the sizable waves at the center of the beach. Snorkelers can also find calm waters closer to the shore to observe the island’s varied native fish species.

Secluded Beach

Half Moon Bay is off the beaten track, meaning you should leave plenty of time to visit and get back before it gets dark. The beach is notoriously tricky to find, with few signs to help confused tourists. Head out with plenty of time and enjoy the adventure of finding this little piece of heaven. Take lunch with you, or enjoy some of the offerings at the beach huts.

6. Grand Anse Beach, Grenada

Grand Anse Beach is the most famous of Grenada’s 45 beaches and also the most picturesque. The two-mile beach, situated on the southwestern coast, is free of charge to visit and is a perfect spot for sunseekers, with almond and palm trees to provide the perfect amount of shade.

Grand Anse Beach features turquoise waters, perfect white sand, and even free WiFi if you want to stay connected. If not, leave your screens behind and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you.

7. Pink Sands Beach, the Bahamas

Pink Sands Beach on Harbour Island in the Bahamas is a marvel to behold. The pale pink color of the sand comes from the shells of foraminifera that live on reefs, rocks, and in caves surrounding the beach. Their red shells mix with the white sand to create a mind-boggling pink color. The sand is always cool, meaning you can take in the spectacle barefoot as you stroll along the shore.

Enjoy the breathtaking beach, swim, snorkel, or fish, then head to the lively town and experience its vibrant gastronomy and nightlife.

Why Head to the Caribbean?

Tourism to the Caribbean is rising, with the BVI reporting an incredible 109.4% rise in cruise visits from January to December 2023. Though many tourists flock to the Caribbean for its beautiful white sand beaches and the azure Caribbean Sea, these aren’t the only reasons to visit these breathtaking islands:

Incredible Gastronomy

The food is one of the top reasons to head to Caribbean shores this year. You’ll find delicious smells and flavors in every corner of the Caribbean with everything from humble beach huts to the most impressive beach resorts serving up classic Caribbean flavors with fresh island-to-plate fare. Be sure to try out the unmissable fish and seafood, fresh fruit, jerk chicken, and spiced plantains while you’re there.

A Cultural Hub

The Caribbean isn’t only about beaches and gastronomy; it’s also overflowing with culture, activities, and places steeped in history. You can discover many unique people groups, participate in colorful festivals, and enjoy diverse experiences on the 700+ islands of the Caribbean.

Caribbean Beaches Are a Paradise on Earth

Soft white sand, clear waters, and gorgeous coral reefs teeming with marine life are just a few of the reasons the Caribbean maintains its status in so many tourists’ minds as paradise on earth. Though far from the only draw of these stunning islands, the beaches provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing trip.

These picture-perfect beaches are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, doing yoga, practicing mindfulness, and reconnecting with yourself on a spiritual level. Whether you’re a professional tanner or want an active vacation, the Caribbean is the perfect place for you!
